Provide a summary of the concept, how it works/could work, and why it could be successful
Through our network of research institutes, universities and private labs, scienup is the goto marketplace for researchers and businesses who are looking to outsource experiments in the fields of science and engineering. This can range from a one-time testing to frequent analysis and ongoing R&D projects. Innovators can save time, efforts, and money by using
our web-based platform. We help researchers materialize their ideas, while solving the limitations of access to resources.
Explain briefly the specific problem(s) you are trying to solve, and how your solution impacts or will impact the region
Disparities in research funding in the region impose immense struggle on researchers and on innovation. While researchers are wasting time and ideas due to lack of access to advanced equipment, available infrastructure suffers from 60% underutilization of capacity. This is mainly due disconnection between research bodies and lack of awareness to available facilities. scienup aims to create a marketdriven collaboration model that should put the region on the R&D outsourcing market map.
Geographical Scope: where is the innovation currently operating/where would it first be applied and where would it scale?
currently operating in Egypt, with future plan to scale into the MENA region, starting with Tunisia, Jordan, and UAE.
Please state the current status of your initiative
Ready to scale up
Beneficiaries: Explain who would benefit from this solution and indicate whether you would be working with a local partner or organization to implement (if so,specify)
Beneficiaries are researchers, innovation driven startups, universities and research bodies.
Describe the scalability and innovation elements of your initiative
